History of the TRI Conference

The first TRI (Tinnitus Research Initiative) Conference was held in 2006. Since then, Tinnitus experts have met every year to discuss the latest research findings, as well as diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. For the 20th congress, the German Foundation Tinnitus & Hearing Charité and the Tinnituszentrum Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin are inviting scientists to Berlin from 16 - 18 September 2026.

President of the TRI2026  is Prof. Dr. med. Birgit Mazurek. Alongside her work as head of the Tinnitus Center of the Charité, which was founded by her, she is active as first chairman of the Executive Board of the German Tinnitus Foundation Charité founded in 2011. The foundation is particularly keen to raise public awareness for tinnitus and to point out ways for its prevention, particularly among children and young people as well as among elderly people. Other tasks of the foundation are the promotion of tinnitus research and science communication.
