The Charité's first specialised clinic, the Ear Hospital, was founded as early as 1874. The Tinnitus Center at the Charité exists since 2001 and, with its research department, outpatients unit and day clinic, is now the largest specialized facility in Germany. Specialist teams work together across disciplines. Physicians from the fields of ENT medicine, internal medicine, psychosomatics and psychology collaborate closely with hearing and physiotherapists as well as acousticians. People affected by tinnitus benefit from this wide range of expertise: at the Tinnitus Center, a comprehensive therapy program is individually tailored to each patient.
